Simple Baselines for Image Restoration

چکیده

AbstractAlthough there have been significant advances in the field of image restoration recently, system complexity state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods is increasing as well, which may hinder convenient analysis and comparison methods. In this paper, we propose a simple baseline that exceeds SOTA computationally efficient. To further simplify baseline, reveal nonlinear activation functions, e.g. Sigmoid, ReLU, GELU, Softmax, etc. are not necessary: they could be replaced by multiplication or removed. Thus, derive Nonlinear Activation Free Network, namely NAFNet, from baseline. results achieved on various challenging benchmarks, 33.69 dB PSNR GoPro (for deblurring), exceeding previous 0.38 with only 8.4% its computational costs; 40.30 SIDD denoising), 0.28 less than half costs. Image Restoration Using A PDE-Based Approach

Image restoration is an essential preprocessing step for many image analysis applications. In any image restoration techniques, keeping structure of the image unchanged is very important. Such structure in an image often corresponds to the region discontinuities and edges. The techniques based on partial differential equations, such as the heat equations, are receiving considerable attention i...

General restoration filter for vibrated-image restoration.

Mechanical vibrations are often the principal cause of image degradation. Low temporal-frequency mechanical vibrations involve random image degradation that depends on the instant of exposure. Exact restoration requires the calculation of a specific filter unique to each vibrated image. To calculate the restoration filter for each image, one needs the specific optical transfer function unique t...

Image Restoration with Two-Dimensional Adaptive Filter Algorithms

Two-dimensional (TD) adaptive filtering is a technique that can be applied to many image, and signal processing applications. This paper extends the one-dimensional adaptive filter algorithms to TD structures and the novel TD adaptive filters are established. Based on this extension, the TD variable step-size normalized least mean squares (TD-VSS-NLMS), the TD-VSS affine projection algorithms (...

Perfect Simulation for Image Restoration

The coupling method has been an enormously useful tool for studying the mixing time of Markov chains and as the basis of perfect sampling algorithms such as Coupling From the Past. Several methods such as Wilson’s layered multishift coupling and Breyer and Roberts’ catalytic coupling have been introduced to use the coupling approach on continuous state spaces. This work builds upon these approa...
